Our social responsibility

Work is a privileged form with which a person acquires dignity and self-fulfilment. In fact, thanks to work, a person has the opportunity to learn, to be involved and especially to express all that is held within.

In this spirit, in 1988, Lionello founded Alfarimini, while keeping a watchful eye on the surrounding social fabric. In December 1995 he decided to set up “Morning star” with the same passion, a social cooperative that helps to provide work to people with a disability.

For Lionello, work is an expression of our being, our desire for fulfilment and happiness, which each of us holds within, regardless of the type of work and the skills or intellectual ability of the person.

“One night”, he says “I could not sleep. I had met a businessman in Milan who had created a cooperative formed only by disabled people, as many as 300! I also really wanted to do something for these people and so, during that sleepless night, I decided to try.

In a short time, thanks to the help of friends, the cooperative “Morning star” was founded, which, as yet employs about 15 people”. In recent years, the involvement with the cooperative and the relationship with the youngsters who work there has grown and is more and more consolidated. Lionello still holds the position of Chairman.

A new passage occurred in 2008 and Antonino Amato remembers it so: “We had decided to alter the corporate structure, transforming the original sole proprietorship into Alfarimini Srl. And so I became Nello’s ‘business partner’. The company was doing very well and we were very proud and grateful. For this reason we wanted part of our profit to be positive even for others”.

By statute, Alfarimini pledged part of its annual profit to social and educational institutions in Rimini.
